TERMOZULIA PROJECT

Tecnoconsult participated in the execution of the engineering, procurement, construction, and startup of the expansion of the existing gas power plant Termozulia operated by ENELVEN into a modern combined cycle power plant. This power plant next to Lake Maracaibo now generates 50 percent more power than before, the implementation to increase, from 320 to 500 megawatts, took place while the power plant was fully operational.

The power plant required the optimal combination of high-quality machinery and plant sections, which included: the steam turbine, the waste heat boiler, the condenser main transformer, cooling water pumps, the lake water purification system, effluent treatment plant, and civil works of the intake and discharge structures of the cooling water for the steam turbine condenser in Lake Maracaibo, among others. The scope of work also included integration to all existing systems of the Plant.
